Pryme AI Review: Is $9.99 a Week the Whole Price? An Honest Look

Pryme AI costs $9.99 a week with no free trial, and haircut and outfit packs cost extra. Real prices, user complaints, photo privacy and refund steps.

You saw the pitch: two selfies, front and side, and an AI hands you a score, a haircut and an outfit plan. Before the report, a sheet asks for $9.99 a week. Later you learn the haircut and outfit packs cost extra.

Short answer: Pryme AI is a real, actively updated iPhone app, but the weekly plan is only the entry fee. Packs cost extra, the listing calls its own scores entertainment, and weekly billing runs $519.48 a year. If you buy, take the 3-month plan.

Disclosure: we build a first-impression test (full report $5, one-time) and haven't bought Pryme's subscription. Listing, policy and review facts checked October 17, 2026.

Pryme AI at a glance

  • Price: $9.99/week or $39.99 per 3 months, plus $4.99 haircut and outfit packs.
  • Paywall: before the report; no free trial, per reviewers.
  • Rating: 4.4 from 187 U.S. ratings; all nine written reviews are one-star.
  • Privacy: photos may go to OpenAI and Google Gemini.
  • Verdict: an entertainment-grade score wrapped in routines. Never weekly.

What is Pryme AI?

Pryme AI: LooksMaxxing Glow Up is an iPhone and iPad app from KICH DEVELOPMENT - FZCO, a Dubai studio, released April 3, 2026. From two selfies it gives an attractiveness score, sub-metrics and an estimated age, plus outfit scoring, a 15-day course, routines and an AI chat (App Store).

Credit where due: 20 versions in six months. We found no Android version.

Is Pryme AI free? Where does the paywall hit?

No. It's free to download, but the core app needs a subscription, and July 2026 reviewers report no free trial and paying before any report: one user "Paid $10 just to get 3 failed report generations attempts" (App Store, July 8, 2026, ★1).

Then a second layer: on August 3, the developer explained that hairstyle try-ons "require additional in-app purchases, as they are resource-intensive to generate."

Fair: image generation costs money. But it makes what we call cover charge, then the tab: the weekly fee gets you in, and the packs bill on top. A July 16 reviewer wanted "a price list for ALL options to review before committing." Here it is.

How much does Pryme AI cost over a year?

$519.48 if the weekly plan renews for 52 weeks, before packs. The 3-month plan costs $39.99, about four weeks of weekly billing ($39.96), or $159.96 a year if renewed.

In-app purchasePriceWorks out to
Weekly Subscription$9.99$519.48/year
Weekly Premium$9.99Difference not explained
Premium 3 Months$39.99About $3.08/week
Haircut Pack$4.99More styles cost more, per a reviewer
Outfit Pack$4.99On top of the subscription
2-in-1 Bundle$9.99Contents not described

A month of weekly billing plus both packs: $49.94. Context: our face-rating app pricing index.

To be fair, the 3-month plan cuts the weekly rate by about 69%. If the routines stick, that's defensible.

What do Pryme AI users say?

Raters are happy; writers aren't. 145 of 187 U.S. ratings are five stars, but all nine written reviews in Apple's U.S. feed, July 8 to 31, 2026, are one-star, mostly about money (App Store):

  • "made it seem like the haircuts and the outfits were part of the actual subscription" (July 31, ★1)
  • "deleted once it said the payment plan no free trial" (July 24, ★1)

In fairness, the developer replies within days, and every review predates the current version, though prices are unchanged. Our complaints analysis explains this split.

Is the Pryme AI score accurate, and accurate at what?

Nobody has shown it is, and Pryme doesn't claim it: the listing calls scores "for informational and entertainment purposes only" and "not objective truth." We found no validation or repeat-photo study, and the privacy policy says OpenAI may process photos "including facial analysis."

The concession: AI raters can echo human taste. On 40 AI-generated, expressionless female faces, five free rating sites tracked 24 residents closely (r = 0.84) but scored higher, 6.9 vs 5.0 (Goshtasbi et al., 2024).

Real photos are noisier. Attractiveness varies more across photos of one person than between people (Jenkins et al., 2011), and a phone 12 inches away makes the nose look about 30% larger (Ward et al., 2018; see front vs. back camera).

Caveat: we didn't repeat-test Pryme. Our own read isn't a validated clinical instrument either.

Is Pryme AI safe? What happens to your photos?

Billing runs through Apple. The privacy policy (effective March 26, 2026) keeps original photos up to 60 days and reports until you delete them, may send photos to OpenAI and Google Gemini, and says your content doesn't train its own models.

  • Tracking: the label says purchases, identifiers and other data may track you, and has no Photos or Videos entry; the policy names ad partners including Meta and TikTok.
  • Age: rated 9+, yet the policy says users must be at least 13.
  • Paperwork: the terms of use describe the app as "a Free service."

Caveat: Apple doesn't verify labels, and none of this shows misuse. Compare rivals in our privacy label audit.

How do you cancel Pryme AI and get a refund?

Cancel in your Apple account; deleting the app doesn't stop billing. Apple decides refunds; the July 31 reviewer says they were "unable to" get one, so ask promptly and be specific.

  1. Cancel: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Pryme AI → Cancel Subscription (Apple).
  2. Refund: reportaproblem.apple.com → I'd like to → Request a refund. Apple says updates take 24–48 hours (Apple).
  3. Packs: each is its own purchase; request each.
  4. Reason: facts ("report failed to generate"); more wording in our cancel-and-refund guide.
  5. Photos: email the developer; uninstalling isn't a deletion request.

Who should use Pryme AI, and what should you use instead?

Use Pryme for a structured routine and a chat coach, on the 3-month plan. If your real question is how you come across, two scored selfies won't answer it.

  • Zero-cost first: back-camera photos from five feet, a blunt friend, your barber's opinion, or our no-paywall app list.
  • The missing axis: our first-impression test reads how you come across from about a minute of questions and two photos; results land about 40 seconds after you submit. The analysis runs first, so you see your read's band, appeal personality and one strength before paying. The full report is $5 one-time, no subscription: your exact read and natural ceiling on a 70–155 first-impression axis, face, physique and outfit part by part, and a dated 7/30/90-day plan. Frequent testers can take $10/month for 3 reports plus unlimited analyses. It isn't a validated clinical instrument either.

If you've rescanned three times this week hoping the number moves, that's the loop, not your face (how rating apps feed insecurity). Pick one lever, like sleep or a haircut, and judge it by how people respond.

Key numbers

The bottom line

Pryme AI is real, maintained and candid about its score, but it charges twice: cover charge, then the tab. If you buy, go quarterly, budget for packs, and treat the score as the entertainment its listing says it is.

Your face doesn't have a score that decides your life. It has an effect on people, formed fast and more movable than any number admits. See how your first impression reads: the analysis runs first, and the full report is $5, once.

Frequently asked questions

Is Pryme AI free?

Free to download, not free to use. The App Store lists two weekly plans at $9.99 and a 3-month plan at $39.99, plus a Haircut Pack and an Outfit Pack at $4.99 each and a $9.99 2-in-1 Bundle. July 2026 reviewers say there is no free trial. Our paywall explainer shows why apps in this category price this way.

Why was I charged again after subscribing to Pryme AI?

Because the haircut and outfit packs are separate in-app purchases. In a public reply on August 3, 2026, the developer said the subscription covers core features, while hairstyle try-ons need extra purchases because they are resource-intensive to generate. Our complaints analysis shows how often money is the issue across the category.

How do I cancel Pryme AI and get a refund?

Deleting the app does not cancel it. On iPhone, go to Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Pryme AI, Cancel Subscription. Then request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com under 'I'd like to' and 'Request a refund'. Apple decides and says to expect an update in 24 to 48 hours. Our cancel-and-refund guide has wording that helps.

Is Pryme AI accurate?

Nobody has published evidence either way. The listing itself says scores are for informational and entertainment purposes only and are not objective truth, and we found no validation or repeat-photo study. For the wider evidence, read our breakdown of whether face rating apps work.

What does Pryme AI do with my photos?

Its privacy policy says original photos are kept for up to 60 days, analysis results stay until you delete them, and photos may be sent to OpenAI and Google Gemini. It says your content is not used to train its own AI models. Compare other apps in our privacy label audit.
