What Bonesmashing means

Bonesmashing is the practice of repeatedly striking your own facial bones — usually cheekbones or jaw, with knuckles or a hard object — on the theory that micro-damage forces the bone to rebuild thicker. The idea borrows Wolff's law, which describes bone adapting to mechanical load, and stretches it past breaking: Wolff's law is about loading patterns like running or lifting, not blunt trauma to the face. This entry exists so people searching the term find facts. It is not a method, and there is no safe version of it.

What it actually does to the first impression

There is no perceptual upside to report. Trauma to the face produces swelling, and swelling can briefly mimic "fuller" cheekbones in a mirror — which is exactly the feedback loop that keeps people hitting themselves. Swelling resolves.
