PSL AI App Review: Two Store Listings, One App, and an Honest Verdict
The iPhone and Android PSL AI apps are one product: results sit behind a $4.99/week or $29.99/year paywall. Real costs, privacy gaps, refund steps.

You searched PSL AI app, took the selfie and watched the scan bar sweep your face. Then a price sheet slid up where your result should be.
Short answer: the App Store's and Google Play's "PSL AI" are one app under two names. The analysis sits behind a subscription, and we wouldn't pay: $4.99 a week becomes $259.48 a year for a score its own terms call "informational and entertainment." It isn't IQ Labs' app called PSL, which we review separately.
Disclosure: we make a first-impression test (full report $5) and haven't bought PSL AI. Facts are from its listings, policies and reviews, checked October 17, 2026.
PSL AI at a glance
- Price: $4.99/week, $29.99/year, $49.99 "Forever" (App Store).
- Paywall: after the scan, before the result.
- Rating: 4.6 (161 iPhone ratings); 4.4 (about 6.39K Google Play reviews).
- Privacy: iPhone label "Data Not Collected"; Android label "Data isn't encrypted."
- Verdict: never weekly; skip it if you want a meaningful number.
Which PSL AI did you download?
Almost certainly the same product: both listings share one bundle ID, privacy policy and website. Plain "PSL" is IQ Labs' separate app. Check the developer line:
| Store name | Developer | Platform | Price | Rating | Data label |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PSL AI-Morph, Looksmax & Mog | Jeba Takia Sumyia | iPhone | $4.99/wk, $29.99/yr | 4.6 (161) | "Data Not Collected" |
| PSL AI-Mogged, Looksmax and Jaw | Arham RR Studio | Android | $1.99–$49.99 per item | 4.4 (6.39K) | Shares device IDs, location |
| PSL - Looksmax & Ascend | IQ Labs LLC | Both | $4.99/wk, from $19.99/yr | 4.7 (12K) | Photos, not linked to you |
- Same ID: in Apple's lookup data, the iPhone app's bundle ID is
com.looksmaxascendwithpsl, the Android app's package name. - Same policy: both stores link to Arham RR Studio's policy for "PSL AI-Mogged,Looksmax and Jaw."
- Same website: both name humptydumptystudio.com, which lists PSL AI.
No wonder people mix them up: the iPhone listing's legal links use the slug "psl-looksmax-ascend," IQ Labs' app name.

Is PSL AI free? Where does the paywall hit?
Free to download, not free to use. The paywall lands after the scan, before any result; the iPhone listing says "personalized analysis" comes "through a subscription."
On Google Play, a January 2026 one-star reviewer wrote "i have to pay for results." On February 27, the developer posted the same reply under 11 reviews: "We can only give the analysis to our paid user." Nine of the 11 were five-star.
A five-star rating from someone who hasn't seen a result rates the onboarding, not the analysis.
How much does PSL AI cost over a year?
Between $29.99 and $259.48. Six weeks of weekly ($29.94) already cost a full year; ten weeks ($49.90), almost Forever.
| iPhone option | Price | 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| psl weekly | $4.99 | $259.48 |
| psl yearly | $29.99 | $29.99 |
| PSL Forever | $49.99 once | $49.99 |
| psl onetime | $1.99 | Unexplained |
Google Play shows only "$1.99 - $49.99 per item."
Caveat: $4.99 weekly is our pricing index's median, and $29.99 a year is fair if you follow the routine. That buys a routine, not a verdict.
What do users say about PSL AI?
Fans praise speed; critics describe paying, then errors.
- Praise: "just upload a photo and the results appear in seconds" (5 stars, March 14, 2026, App Store).
- Paid, then stuck: "It'll tell you it did your scan, but then throw an error every time AFTER you pay" (1 star, February 20, 2026, App Store). An April update lists "fixed error analysis."
- The stars: "Um this app is definitely not forcing me to give it a 5 star please help 😭" (5 stars, July 14, 2026, Google Play).
Is the PSL AI score accurate, and accurate at what?
It may echo rough consensus, but nothing is validated. The listing promises an "objective" PSL rating; the terms call results "informational and entertainment" that "may not always be accurate."
Concession: AI can echo human consensus. Five free AI rating sites tracked 24 residents' scores of 40 AI-generated women's faces (r = 0.84), but scored higher, 6.9 vs 5.0 (Goshtasbi et al., 2024).
Our reframe: same label, different ruler. "PSL" is forum slang, not a standard (what PSL means). PSL AI and IQ Labs' PSL are different developers' software under one label, so their numbers aren't comparable.
The photo moves the ruler too: across photos of one person, attractiveness varied more than between different people (Jenkins et al., 2011). PSL AI's terms agree that scores shift with "lighting, camera angle, facial expression."

Caveat: we didn't repeat-test PSL AI with one photo. Our own read depends on your photos too (front vs back camera).
Is PSL AI safe? What happens to your photos?
Billing runs through Apple or Google. The paperwork is weak (compare rivals): the labels contradict the policy, which never says where face photos go.
- iPhone label vs policy: "Data Not Collected," yet the linked policy lists IP address, usage, approximate location and, on request, "photos or videos."
- Android label: device IDs and approximate location shared for analytics; "Data isn't encrypted" (Data safety).
- Where photos go: the policy names only RevenueCat, a subscription service, though the studio's site cites "Gemini 2.5 Pro vision models for high-fidelity aesthetic analysis." No photo retention period, nothing on training; deletion requests go to contact@arhamrrstudio.com.
- Dead links: the iPhone description's Terms and Privacy URLs sit on arhamrrstudio.tech, which didn't resolve; WHOIS shows it expired August 26, 2026.
- Age: rated 9+ and Everyone; the policy excludes under-13s.
How do you cancel PSL AI and get a refund?
Cancel in your store account; deleting the app doesn't stop billing (its terms agree). A July 2026 App Store reviewer (3 stars) asked: "I already paid is this a glitch? And can I get a refund?"
- iPhone, cancel: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → PSL AI → Cancel Subscription (Apple).
- iPhone, refund: reportaproblem.apple.com → "I'd like to" → "Request a refund"; expect an update in 24 to 48 hours (Apple).
- Android, cancel: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Cancel subscription (Google).
- Android, refund: request it in Google Play; after 48 hours, Google sends you to the developer (Google), developer@humptydumptystudio.com.
Wording: our cancel-and-refund guide.
Who should use PSL AI, and what instead?
Someone who wants a routine nudge and pays yearly. Others have better first stops.
- Nothing locked: looksmaxxing apps with no paywall.
- The missing axis: PSL AI grades one photo's geometry, never how a stranger reads you. Our test does: about a minute of questions plus two photos, analyzed before you're asked to pay. Your band, appeal personality and one strength show first; the full report ($5 once, no subscription) adds your read and natural ceiling on a 70–155 first-impression axis, face, physique and outfit part by part, and a dated 7/30/90-day plan. It isn't a validated clinical instrument either.
Rescanning the same face hoping the tier moves? The loop is the problem, not your jaw. Rating apps can feed insecurity; sleep, a haircut and a better photo change how you come across faster.
Key numbers
- $259.48: a year of the weekly plan, 8.7 times the yearly one.
- 1 bundle ID behind both "PSL AI" listings.
- r = 0.84: AI sites vs human raters; AI scored 1.9 points higher (Goshtasbi et al., 2024).
- 100 ms: enough for face judgments that match unhurried ones (Willis & Todorov, 2006).
The bottom line
PSL AI works, bills through the stores and sells under two names. Pay yearly if you must, never weekly. But it sells an "objective" rank its own terms call entertainment, behind self-contradicting paperwork.
Your face doesn't have a score that decides your life. It has an effect on people, formed fast and more movable than a number admits. See where your read lands before paying $4.99 a week for a rank.

Frequently asked questions
Is PSL AI free?
Free to download, not free to use. The analysis sits behind a subscription: $4.99 a week, $29.99 a year or $49.99 for PSL Forever on iPhone; Google Play shows $1.99 to $49.99 per item. The developer told reviewers it can 'only give the analysis to our paid user.' For tools with nothing locked, see our no-paywall looksmaxxing apps.
Is PSL AI the same app as PSL by IQ Labs?
No. PSL AI (listed under Jeba Takia Sumyia on iPhone and Arham RR Studio on Android) is a different product from IQ Labs' PSL - Looksmax & Ascend. Check the developer line under the app name. Our IQ Labs PSL review covers that one.
Why was I charged by PSL AI, and how do I get a refund?
Charges come from the subscription you confirmed at the paywall, and deleting the app does not cancel it. Cancel in Settings, your name, Subscriptions on iPhone, or Payments and subscriptions in Google Play, then request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Google Play. Our cancel-and-refund guide has the wording.
Is the PSL AI rating accurate?
No validation is published. The listing promises an 'objective' PSL rating, but the terms call results 'informational and entertainment' and say they may not be accurate or consistent. Scores also move with lighting and camera angle. Our breakdown of whether face rating apps work goes deeper.
Is PSL AI safe to use?
Billing runs through Apple or Google as usual. The data paperwork is weak: the iPhone label says no data is collected while the linked policy lists several kinds, the Android label says data isn't encrypted in transit, and the policy never says where face photos are processed. Our face rating app privacy audit compares rivals.
